Krod is coming.

Peter Knight, Big Wolf's co-creator/executive producer/writer and lots of other titles separated by slashes, has a new series in the wings: Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. There are a couple of early press mentions floating around, including a nod by the New York Times and Broadcasting & Cable. Looks like shooting could start as early as this summer. Six episodes. Comedy Central. Fingers crossed.

It's not exactly the 'workplace comedy set in the Middle Ages' that most of these outlets are reporting -- think a cross between Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and The Legion of Substitute Heroes (I'll, um, try to come up with a less obscure analogy later). Bulging muscles and double-fisted swordplay. Delicately coiffed hero-hair. Complete idiot's guide to sorcery. More sweaty cleavage than you could kinda get away with Peter Knight's last basic cable homebase. Anyway, I'll post more when there's more to post, but...hey! News! Something to look forward to.

"Flaming Sword of Fire"? Ha ha, hope it's funny. A lot of Comedy Central lately isn't impressing me.

Brit TV vet Alex Hardcastle is directing the series.

It looks like they've officially picked Hungary as the shooting location with a premiere eyed for early '09. Shooting starts next month.

Well I chuckled which is more than I can say for most shows. Could be worse I suppose.

It doesn't look as good as I thought it would be...but it was only a preview!

It still looks like it could give me a laugh every now and then.

The commercials make me laugh really hard because it reminds me hardcore of all the porn I've been downloading lately.

I've seen the previews; it looks funny. Definitely better than a lot of the stuff comedy central has been airing lately.

Comedy Central's bowing out of a second season, but it looks like the BBC is still willing to go forward with another run (with a slashed budget) if they can find a producing partner.
