Albert Hammond Jr. Or if you want some supernatural type stuff you can download all of Anny Luckless's stuff here:

http://luckless.net/

I'd recommend Bit By a Werewolf, Werewolves' Wives, Sattva Bloodisattva, or After the Prom. It's definitely more adult and a little creepy, but they are catchy.

You need a copy of "Waited Up Till Light" by Johnny Foreigner. It's my favorite discovery of 2009 (although the album came out a little before that).

It's not even close to being a new album, but that dog.'s "Retreat from the Sun" is still my all-time favorite album.

Everyone needs the complete Sloan discography to live a happy, healthy life too (especially Twice Removed, One Chord to Another, and Navy Blues).

If you'd like some fringe-geek music, I recommend Jonathan Coulton. He ranges pretty much all over the place, but it's all great.

From darkwave side, try Voltaire.

The ones I listed were songs on the Anny Luckless site. Not bands.

Golgo Bordello is a fun band, and Hurra Torpedo is pretty silly...but equally fun.

Pretty much anything by Metric. Their latest CD Fantasies is amazing, but you should check out some of their older stuff like Dead Disco, Wet Blanket and Combat Baby (all three are from the album Old World Underground, Where Are You Now)

Gatekeeper, Inside & Out and Secret Heart by Feist

Hotel Song and On the Radio by Regina Spektor

All amazing.

Indie, folk-y, talented. Beautiful music, beautiful people. Seriously the nicest people I've ever met, and possibly the most talented.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Sleeping Giant - they're a really great metal christian band.
